Eighteenth-Century Ideas about Gambling [Paper]

Justine Crump of the Centre for History and Economics, King's College, University of Cambridge has authored the paper "The perils of play: Eighteenth-century ideas about gambling" (2004, April). In it, she examines some of the ideas associated with gambling in eighteenth-centure Britain and considers the way in which contemporary writings characterized the perils of play.
